5th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION ON GEOINFORMATION (ISG 2006)

1. INTRODUCTION
ISG 2006 was organized and hosted by Department of Surveying and Geomatics, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) on 19th to 21st September 2006 at Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Seven keynote speakers and about 74 presenters presented their research findings in the 3 days seminar. Opening ceremony was held on the second day of the seminar and was officiated by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environement, Yang Berhormat Dato’ S. Sothinathan. Twenty parallel sessions, exhibitions and keynote sessions were among the main activities during the seminar. The parallel sessions were GIS Applications I, II, III, IV and V, Mapping I, II & III, Remote Sensing and Digital Image Processing I & II, Remote Sensing/Geodesy, Precise Measurement I, II & III, GPS/Industrial Surveying, Photogrammetry, Hydrography, GPS Technology and Processing, Photogrammetry/Laser Scanning and GIS/Cadastre. An Industrial Session was held on the third day of the seminar.
